Japanese inspirations a timeless trend in art and design.

Japanese art and culture had long been inspiration for artist and designer all over the West. Since 17th century Europeans were fascinated by exotic silks ceramics and art and crave having them in their collections.

I fell in love with mystical Japan through the eyes of one of my favourite painters and my two favourite Glasgow Boys: Edward Atkinson Hornel and George Henry. Their work was characterised by bold, vigorous, painterly handling and an increasing emphasis on the decorative.

All the things I love in painting.

Over hundred years later and I still feel those paintings and inspirations are relevant and surprisingly so beautiful suitable in 21st century interiors.

That fact may not be a priority for some collectors, but it is definitely a bonus.
